‘Wasabi’ was initially designed as a light displacement racing yacht for the Melbourne to Osaka race. Since then, she has been successfully campaigned in Australia and New Zealand. This has included the Sydney to Hobart where she finished first in PHS Division 1 taking advantage of her light weight and high downwind speeds. In New Zealand she has an impressive race record, including many on line and handicap. When correctly navigated and sailed, this yacht is still one of the three fastest boats in Auckland's division one. Offshore/long distance, Wasabi has always finished in the top 10 or 5 after the T52s. This is now a chance to own a formidable competitor with an impressive racing pedigree. The yacht has always been maintained at a high standard by the current owner and is now seriously offered for sale. The vessel remains in Auckland, the owner is happy to keep a third share, or if based in Sydney, willing to keep a share to race the Sydney to Hobart. By arrangement the current marina berth could be available in Auckland. A comprehensive specification.
